As most of you know, I have been practicing gratitude for a very long time after my friend, Teri Wilson posted 3 things she was grateful for on Facebook. This was almost 16 years ago. I have been practicing ever since, and my life has changed profoundly.
At the end of 2022, I realized that I wanted to bring together others whose stories of gratitude not only created change within themselves; however, also provided strength, inspiration, and compassion.
I am so proud that Michelle Slaney-Trovato, Kari Ainsworth, Tara Perkins, Nicole DeFeo, Laura Glotzbach, Greg Orth, Wonder Wendy Farrell, and Mary Meduna-Gross all chose to go on this journey with me.
Our book, Stepping Into Gratitude, is a series of real-life stories from these amazing individuals. I promise you will walk away changed after you read it.
By day, Greg Orth is the owner of THincBOX LLC, a Sandler Training Company. Before Sandler, Greg was a ‘corporate guy’ for 20+ years, but decided to leave it all behind, follow his entrepreneurial spirit and start his own company helping businesses build their sales and leadership excellence.
By night, Greg is the owner of Craft Tastings LLC, an event company that specializes in craft beer and whiskey pairing experiences.
Greg lives in Lancaster, PA with his wife, Jackie, two teenage sons, Mason and Mitchell, and his trusty golden-doodle, Chase.
Kari Ainsworth - owner and Creatrix at Moonbeams Unlimited, Reiki Master, Moonologer™, Law of Attraction certified, and Holistic Health Coach - has combined her passions to support care partners and caregivers as they learn that self-care isn’t selfish.
Specializing in creating small-batch and Reiki-infused candles, soaps, lotions, and more, Kari uses her experience to bring energy, love, and positivity to her creations. Kari works alongside coaches and consultants hosting retreats who desire a more personalized gift selection for their participants.
Laura Glotzbach has 25 years of marketing experience and after 10 years working in advertising agencies, started LGS Marketing Services.
A graduate from Rider University, Laura also holds certificates from New York University, The Wharton School and Cornell. She is in the master’s program at Pennsylvania State University. She actively volunteers at Rider University and was awarded the Hooper/Gibbons Mentor award for her work with the Women’s Leadership Council.
Dr. Mary Meduna-Gross has served in leadership roles throughout her adult life in military, education and business settings. She holds a fundamental belief that individuals who have a sense of belonging, the opportunity to develop their expertise, and the authority to use their talents will not only give more to their organization, but they will also be happier and healthier.
Michelle is a 27-year, award winning special education and student leadership teacher, turned entrepreneur. She is also an adoptive and special needs mom, and most recently a legacy maker.
As Michelle’s special needs son was going through the transition process to all things adulthood, she discovered that there were not nearly enough services available. So she decided to do something about it. She has set into motion a 10-year plan to buy him a house where he can safely flourish in his adult life with his friends. From this experience, Michelle met many ordinary people creating extraordinary legacies, and decided to launch and host the Living Your Legacy Podcast, where she interviews these spectacular legacy makers and the professionals who support them. She is currently creating courses, writing a book and hosting virtual summits to help more people live into their own legacies that will positively impact the world.
Nicole L. DeFeo is a seasoned leader with over 25 years of experience in building and spearheading non-profit organizations. She plays a pivotal role in board development for each organization's board of trustees and healthier.

“Wonder Wendy’s bucket list life” – it’s a simple motto that Wonder Wendy Farrell adopted shortly after she moved to Arizona to start the most recent chapter of her life. She credits her parents for instilling a curiosity to explore and learn. Her father, a university professor, frequently included Wonder Wendy (WW) and her mother on his work trips relating to Agricultural Extension. As such, WW enjoys learning and trying new things whether it be food, fashion, the arts, or even rappelling off a nine-story hotel (that was a fundraiser).
In this most recent chapter of her life, WW is combining her background in business logistics/marketing, non-profit management/fundraising, and theater to evolve once again. She thought she retired when she and her husband moved to Arizona, but quickly found that there were lots of ways that her talents were still in demand.
She volunteers on the board of the Arizona Costume Institute at the Phoenix Art Museum and Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni Association (Valley of the Sun). She also works as a model, spokesperson, and writer. Great things started happening as soon as she started opening the door and saying, “What’s next?”
